Seriously, I have owned five BMWs and after a few years each of them got chewed up by the salt, sand and other garbage they dump all over the roads here in the winter. I now have the means to buy a third car so I am trying that for now. Plus all of that salt and salt brine is very corrosive and harmful, especially to the suspension parts.

I can understand that, but imo if you're only driving your M in nice weather, you're ready to move up to a dedicated sports car. The whole idea behind the M cars is they offer the perfect compromise for daily driving and sportiness. If you're running two cars, why compromise?
