I would pay the difference for the actual BMW one if your car has HUD. Then you know you won't have any problem with the HUD.

FYI: Mine cracked on my E60 M5 and Geico replaced it with OEM BMW glass with no charge to me. I'm in Florida. I think it was about $1000 for the glass. Might be more now.
