Here's a copy/paste of my notes from researching this for a 2014 M5 Comp with 40k. YMMV

Extended warranty options?

- Look for exclusionary policy, which is platinum, also assure it’s a warranty not maintenance extension. Platinum includes iDrive, which I believe gold does not

- Dinan supposedly is not a warranty issue, unlike others, but Dinan might not offer an F10 tune

- some dealers may not honor extended warranty if 1200mi service not done. Also look for flagging due to mods, which they may not disclose. Generally, warranty is transferrable.- Call beforehand to assure there hasn’t been a cancellation on dealer side

- can “refresh” CPO warranty not original 4/50k but adds 2yr/50k (or maybe 1yr unlimited) it costs $700 at time of purchase with $50 deductible.

- CPO is not the same as the BMW extended warranty, but in effect they may play out the same

- quotes from $3500-7000 for 4yr/to 100k, and all added from date of original sale 0 miles.
- heard 3yr/36k for $5820 with $250 ded

- heard 7yr/70k for $4900-6900 with $50 ded

- heard 7yr/100k for $6500-7900 with $50 ded

- one person said going to the 2yr/unlim was $1200

- read CPO warranty in detail. Some are 1yr/unlim, some are up to 6yrs.

- BMW Platinum? Jim Martinez from Steve Thomas BMW may run good deals, or Greg Poland at Pacific BMW and mention bimmerpost gregpoland@pacificbmw.com

- sounds like you now have to buy at in IN dealership and arrive in person with car

- The Warranty Group 6/60k $4202, 48/50k $3255 per Scott at Ft Wayne BMW
- USAA (extended vehicle protection) - adds 60mo/100k from time of warranty purchase for $4900 with $0 red

- they cover any BMW under 10yrs old with less than 115k on odometer, must have act and military connection, coverage ends at 115k

- 800-531-8722, need enlist (actual day)/sep dates, discharge status/rank

- Carchex has worked with BMW
- Exclusionary - 3yr/45k $7832, 2yr/30k $7137 $50 to transfer
- X5 - diamond premier - transferrable 4yrs/60k = $4918 $100 ded, any dealer, $0 ded (limited offer) and military to $4300 - $3500 $25
- ext 407 215-600-3744 Keith

- M5 $7607-200 in full
- VSC
- easycare - 12k for 3yr/125k with $250 ded
(good reviews)
- CNA? (“Mixed Reviews”, but offer up to 9yrs/150k, though may not cover M cars)

- autopom for $2910 for 4 yr/48k platinum warranty (read this 2x)

- for X5 named component plan 3yr/36mo is $3380/5yr/75mo $3800 must be under 80k for exclusionary (approx 11k)

- Three guys recommended “route66”

- do not cover ///M or X5

- can only offer a drivetrain warranty

- Delta Car Project - diamond premier for 4rys/80k for $3400 (some say poor online reviews)
- Alpha - good, but must be purchased at the time of purchase- Carmax “Maxcare” can go up to 6yrs/125kmi for $3799 - covers everything.

- Fidelity (via dealership (they underwrite for VW/Audi factory)) was $1500-2000 less than CPO and went to 3yrs/75k. May need to get it before warranty expires

- Fidelity Platinum with $250 deductible for 2013 with 30k
2 yr / 24K - $2448.00
3 yr / 36K - $3976.00
4 yr / 48K - $5883.00
5 yr / 60K - $7346.00
5 yr / 75K - $7864.00
6 yr / 72K - $8887.00

- one said fidelity accepted at all dealers.

- Gold Plus is slightly better than BMW Platinum

- was $4000 for 4yrs/48k

- Only sold through dealership networks
