If you use 5W-30 just stick with the BMW oil. It's pretty good I think. I just sent my BMW oil to Blackstone so will post here when I get a report back.
In the mean time I am now running German Castrol Edge 0W-30. I think this offers better protection, particularly during startup when the engine is cold. I will report on this later, but for now the engine is running very smooth but to early to comment on any differences. |
I am curious about where can I find 0W30 castrol? Here in Canada, my local dealer carries 5w30 only. I went to an independent shop and guys there told me Castrol does not supply 0w30 or 0w40 to Canadian market.
