I'm in the same situation and have decided that JB4+BCM is the way to go for my personal needs on my otherwise stock '16 M5. Planning on setting it to Map 2 (~22psi) for everyday (93 octane), and map 7 (~25psi) if I decide to run race gas/meth. Well see how that does, and can always work on a custom map in the future to dial it in better.
