I was in a very similar situation as you last February. My M5 was at 900 miles and I was driving up to Las Vegas that weekend. Mileage after the trip would be 1,500 miles.
I emailed my service advisor (who I have been with for over 10 years) and told him the situation. He said to get the service done when I return from the trip at 1,500 miles.
If you are worried, get something in writing from the dealership that it will be okay to do the service late.
What part of Cali are you picking the car up in? Maybe you can schedule a service in Northern Cali if you are picking up in SoCal.
