Wow that's a lot!

I just don't accept that as normal. Having owned a business that built quite a few (hundred) performance engines over the years this type of oil consumption isn't normal except on the loosest race engines. The BMW M5 isn't a race engine, it's a performance sedan that should act like one. There are MANY high power production cars that don't consume anywhere near 1 quart every 600 miles.

Anyone know where that oil is blowing through? The cold/hot expansion cannot possible be that aggressive that it's losing that much oil during warmup ???
