I've had the H&R springs on several E90s and it definitely did kill the ride comfort , coilovers are much better and worth every cent. As has been mentioned on the F10 EDC is an important component and most folks want to retain its function.
The H&R springs are cheap and probably the "cheapest" option to lower the car (and close the ugly wheel gap) but based on prior experience I am somewhat cautious and concerned about ride comfort. I had the chance to ride in the ACS M5 with the ACS springs (Eibach springs with ACS specific spring rates) and it actually was pretty good . They are not much more expensive (460$) than the H&R springs.
To me they'd be my preferred option for a short term solution until the KW sleeve kit is out .
