Mine's a March 2012 build and does not show up on the VIN list.

Reaction to this recall is just amazing. Someone should start a poll to get public opinion on the following questions.

Are turbocharged engines harder on oilpumps than NA engines?

If my oil pump fails, should I be cross with:
a) BMW designers
b) BMW test engineers
c) Oil pump quality control folks
d) Barry - Because of him I can't drive my new car.

Is it a bigger deal if my oil pump goes, or my fuel pump?

What individual component reliability is required if there are 20,000 parts in an assembly and only one failure can be tolerated per year per assembly?
