I didn't say slip on over factory tips. I said slip on like the factory tips. I.e the factory tips don't need welding. I also don't want to weld aftermarket tips. I'd rather have slip on or clamp on so I can revert to stock for resale without any hassle.
And also I prefer Titanium or OEM-style chrome to carbon.
I think you will find the market for slip on tips is quite large. A lot of people don't want to go to a chop shop for welding, but a simple DIY slip on tips would have mass appeal. It's like the painted reflectors - everyone on the board buys them.
