so what are my options? on top of the list is the mclaren MP12-4C, but still there is no second hand one under 150K GBP, next is Ferrari 458, but same problem...lambo gallardo LP560-4...the transmission turns me off. so porsche...991S or next gen cayman...
i am very unsure at the moment on how to proceed..maybe order an E92 M3 coupe?

If you want something for pure driving pleasure, the focus should be on light weight and balance, not necessarily horsepower. There's a reason that one of the most popular cars on the track is a Miata, and it's not (just) because they're cheap; it's because whether you're on or off the track, you don't need to be going fast to have a lot of fun. Massive horsepower and torque can't be appreciated fully or for very long on public roads; handling can be appreciated everywhere.
The M3 is indeed a great all-around car and arguably the best choice if you'll only have one car, but if you've already got an M5, I think you'd be happier if you picked a second car that was a bit more focused on driving feel rather than also concerning itself all-around usability like the M3. If you want something much less expensive but arguably still very fun to drive, think of things like Miata, FR-S/BRZ, and Boxster/Cayman -- maybe Mini, though FWD might irritate you. Up from there price-wise, any of the other options discussed (Viper, 911, R8, 458) would also likely be fun, though in a different way.
