Did you check the manual that came with your M5 MY? For my 2013 M5, the manual that came with it on page 177, it recommends engine oil viscosity grades SAE 0W-30 or SAE 0W-40 and alternatively SAE 5W-30 or SAE 5W-40.
Appreciate 0
