Buy an SSD and put it in the Pro, and then work out.

I have a 13" MBP, added an SSD, and it flies... much cheaper than the MBP Retina as well (assuming you don't need a 15" retina display).
Thanks Chewy!!!! That's a good idea. What SSD did you put in (brand and size). Can apple put in a SSD for you at the genius bar because mine is still under warranty.
