1200 mile service unlocks launch control and you are now allowed to go above the intial breakin rev limits
you technically can do this at mile one, but is not advised ---BMW may or may not be able to track how much you take it to redline and may or may not be able to use this against you in the case of warranty claims -- lots of former threads on this.
Finally, there is still a recommended limit after 1200 miles until 3 or 5k miles before the car is considered fully broken-in.
