Buying a car that is still depreciating, then dumping 100% of its value into modifications is surely a stupid financial decision from which you will never recover.
On the other hand if I had any financial sense at all I would have stuck with my E90 as well.
Anything with an S54 in it gets my vote, you can always enjoy the car stock (relatively) before making your decision on the modifications.
