Here's a case of history repeating. Every now and then, the Schiphol airport in the Netherlands is a good place for a prototype spotting. Some might remember the pictures of E92 335i and an E90 M3 prototypes years ago, today it's an F10 M5 protoype in its late testing stage (FEP), courtesy of
Autojunk.nl. These shots are the first allowing us a clear look at the M5 bootlid spoiler and in the silverstone color (which looks to be a future production color). Other production trim equipment like side mirrors, side skirts and bumpers are also prevalent but still masked.
The M5 will be powered by a twin-turbo twin-scroll 4.4l V8 with more than 555hp, mated exclusively to a Double Clutch Transmission. Expect a first appearance of the M5 dubbed as a concept in April with the production version being the star of the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Exciting year!
