The way it makes sense in my head financially is like this.

June of 2012 I had the option to buy a brand new M5 for $105k or a great deal on a very light use 550 for $54k i made the decision to go with the 550

now 10 months later after spending $17k on performance I realize I need the M5.

Today I spent $89k on the M5 I could have gotten 10 months ago, yes I missed out in 10 months of driving the M5 however I got to play with a cool 550 which my wife will now enjoy and since 10 months ago the M5 would have been $16k more than what I just spent..

GUESS WHAT! I now have $16k that I can spend in performance on the M5 1000hp here we come!!! lol

Honestly sometimes is hard to justify buying any of these cars.. We will always loose I just try and find ways to loose a bit less each time..
Congrats on the purchase! $16K off a new m5 is the best I've heard! Do you mind sharing which dealer?
