I would have assumed in situations such as these that BMW would just fix the scratches and not tell you. The fact that they sent you a photo of the damage and let you know its going to be repaired is pretty decent IMO. Now you know to look at that area when you inspect the car & make sure it looks right. If it looks right I personally wouldn't worry about it.
