A few short months after I collected my M5, some guy asked in this forum about the LCI M5. I thought he was an idiot to be asking about LCI when the car just started shipping. Turns out, i was the idiot. M cars really do ship just before the LCI is introduced to the series cars. Lesson learnt. I will not be considering buying the next M car at least until a year and a half later... |
This is just nothing new to BMW. They have always done it. Not sure why anyone is at all surprised or upset. Most car manufacturers do it. Was considering a Porsche recently and asked the question about when the mid model update would be and they gave me an estimated time frame. It is marketing at its finest. I bought a 2013 pre-lci and upgrading to 2014 M6. You have to either know or do research before purchasing if you are unfamiliar with the brand.
