I don't spray detail spray on a car unless I'm claying it or removing bird poop or something like that. I NEVER use detail spray to remove dust. That's a true recipe for swirl marks galore. I use a waffle weave to remove detail spray when I'm doing bird poop removal. I always use a waffle weave for runny liquids. As for applying wax, I use a wax applicator pad.
