IMO, BMW understands the importance of straight line oomph, without fixating on the numerical output. The M cars consistently win competitions against peers (especially early in their production runs) without matching horsepower or 0-60 ratings. Think about the RS6 at 450 when the e39 made 394 and the E63 AMG at 515+ when the e60 posted 500.

I would be more interested in the 7:55 ring run than a sub 4.5 0-60 time.
