Officially you should leave the license plate mounting brackets in the car , I always
take the front one out to avoid someone at the VPC or at dealer installing it prior to re-delivery (I never have a front license plate and most folks at the dealer are aware of it but I rather be "safe" than have holes in my bumper
)
I also now left twice some detailing accessories on the trunk as I was too "lazy" to carry them back (and didn't care if they made it or not, it's more of a 'test") and they always showed up at the dealer . Guess it all depends how lucky you are with items left in the car .
