Lexus has pretty-consistently been the best selling luxury make in the US (though I think they were outsold last year - can't remember by who). It is absolutely elementary that they are BMW's competitor.
When it comes to
competing in the marketplace, sales are what counts. The people running these companies do not simply say "Oh yeah well my cars perform way better than yours on the track so take that!". It only works that way in internet fanboi-land.
