I read it in detail and thanks for the useless response. I am referring to the workings of the prior M engines and what exactly a higher viscosity oil is used for rather than al ighter. My thought is the lower friction of the lower viscosity would be beneficial for power in a fast moving engine like the high revving M engines were. However maybe the oil gets so hot that it does not provide adequate lubrication. The article does not address lubrication needs in detail and why less lubrication is required given the extremely hot temperatures of the engine.
