actually, the crowd at Bimmer forums pointed out my ignorance.
It's not an Alpina. Just a pretty 750il, I guess. Kind of strange they would advertise it as an Alpina on Craigslist. It's not a small dealership, but they had it right on the dealership ad.
Strange. Guess they were waiting for a sucker like me to walk in without checking.
