I tried it again and it shifts automatically
BTW it putters around RPM 3000 only if you are gentle with the gas pedal or hesitant,, it seems the only way of doing it is mashing the gas pedal after you see the checkered flag and then let go of that shift knob and be prepared for snapping your neck -
today it had little spin and the traction was amazing and the pull was scary!
