Kinda like saying you set a landspeed record but did it all downhill. You may have still set the record, but the conditions greatly contributed to your ability to do it.

Thing is that as long as it's allowed by the rules, wet skidpad or dry doesn't matter for the purposes of setting the record. Also I don't think any set of tires would last 51 miles of drifting on a dry surface.
To me this is a testament to the driver more than the car. Being able to keep it drifting for that long ... damn.
