That's a pretty good price. I paid $550 for mine used and it's a UM date code (1998). Stellar lens, though. Super sharp, great colors, and contrast. I also had the 70-200mm f/4L (non is) and much prefer the 200/2.8L. One thing about the 200/2.8L that I love is that it's sharp wide open. You can shoot at 2.8 all day and not be disappointed. Stop it down a bit and it just gets better.

just sold mine to fund a 135mm f/2L, which should be here next Tuesday
