When I said 'exhaust sound' I meant the OEM 'Active Sound' that is recorded from a stock F10 engine on a dyno, stored as an audio file on the ECU, and piped into the passenger cabin through the speakers. This is how Active Sound works.

The main reason anybody gets an aftermarket exhaust is to change and improve the sound that you hear from inside the cabin. I don't know too many people that only care about the sound that other people hear from outside the car.

If you don't defeat Active Sound, you'll still have the OEM engine/exhaust sound being piped into the cabin, over the new aftermarket exhaust sound. That would be a problem for most people.
