Bonz, you should be correct.
First of all my quote was on C7 and not C7 Z06!
Second, on the paper the car with more power and more torque and less weight
must be faster
if that car can put its power down! C7 Z06 is a rear wheel drive car with slightly front bias weight distribution (51/49), but not a rear or mid engine or AWD car to be able to take advantage of 650 lb-ft torque. It means most of this high amount of torque is "useless". There is no perfect traction or grip to help this car out to jump off the line as quick as possible or accelerate and go like a rocket. Maybe skill drivers can manage these power and torque. But yet compare to M5/M6 it's faster. Motor trend reported 0-60 in 3.2 second and 1/4 mile in 11.3 second @126 mph which is a good result but not amazing for a car with this much power/torque. My point is we cannot judge just based on power and weight and basic physics and no way American cars can beat German cars in traction.
Let me leave this video here to see how C7 Z06 compete with Hellcat with a bit more power (50-60 HP) but a lot more weight (800-900 lb) .
