I came from a 2012 535i to a 16 m5 and I couldn't be happier. The seats are more comfortable, suspension is light years ahead of the 535 with all the settings you can choose from, and the car is an absolute beast on the highway. It does everything the 535 did but 100x better. It's a no brainier if it fits your budget.
