I am from the NE as well.. frequented NY/NJ/PA.
You should get two sets of wheels.. 19's and 20's. Use the 19's for snow. Wheel and tire insurance is a must (if such is possible with aftermarket wheels).
Being in NY, no matter how careful you are, sometimes you end up hitting that really bad pothole.. and 19's vs 20's make the difference between bubble in tire or not, or sitting at side of road or not. If you arent open to 2 sets of wheels, you should probably go with 19's for practicality reasons (although 20's are nicer IMO).
