In Germany were sold this year 266.726 models (inklusive Mini), +3,4%, so North American and German market are so close on sales.
On the other hand, the main german rivals sold in their country: Audi 226.872 models, -3,4%; but Mercedes sold 281.240 models, -0,5%.
As a curiosity, VW sold in Germany in 2010 613.808 models, - 23,8%. Porsche had a very good year: 16.257 models, +6%!!!
