They are managing the torque during shifting times not managing peak torque. They obviously identified the crucial times when the DCT transmission would see the most strain and managed boost and other variables at these times to limit the amount of torque during shifts.
They do this on most modified turbo cars with high torque numbers, I know my 335i has the same features built into it's piggyback system.
But you are correct, as with buying any modifications that provide this much extra power. Buyers should beware!!
