With that trap speed 12.0 can't be anywhere near the best it can do and I think the E9x M3 was capable of low 12s.
Obviously it was built with the 'ring in mind and not the 1/4 mile but that can't be a very good representation of what it can do.

There's board members here who have hit the 11.7 first time out on a track with a bone stock M5, most can get their car sub 12.0 no problem... I personally think the 1/4 mile times for the M5 in this comparison are way conservative or driver error.
Additionally, take a look at the 0-60 vs. 5-60 times. AWD helps the others so their 0-60's are faster than the M5, but the in the 5-60 the M5 crushes all... and continues accelerate.
