Unless you specified at the time the insurance was written that the car had expensive aftermarket modifications that you wanted covered, you could be out of luck. However, you can always 'work' the claims adjuster to just 'go along' with the repair shop's estimate of what it would take to restore the car to its pre-collision condition (including modifications) instead of him working from his manual. (P.S. -- That assumes it's a claim against your own policy. If you're dealing with the other party's insurance, then you can demand full restoration.)
