I swear by the Alpine break in. Basically this involves driving around Tirol and Switzerland without taking any highways and doing as many mountain climbs as possible.
Not sure how you would replicate this in the US, but avoiding highways is a good start. I literally set my Nav to avoid highways. The rhythm of constantly accelerating and braking as you go from apex to apex on country roads is very good for break in.
