Not only that, an extensive repair is most likely certified by someone above the dealership,...as BMW really hates expensive warranty repairs! So they will ensure that the local dealer gets the it right. Not all Techs are certified at the same level in at a given dealership, so, 1)your car's engine replacement will be used to facilitate 1 or 2 other Tech's growth in the process of tear down and install of various components of an F10 M5, and 2) I would expect a good dealership to use your car as an opportunity to do just such. Afterall, there aren't many F10 M5's having engine's replaced,...of which, we are thankful of that.
