That time is deceptive. The S5 does 0-60 in less than 5 sec primarily because it launches very hard w/AWD. Other fast cars, like the M5, struggle to get moving due to traction problems. But once underway, it's a completely different story.
Nail the gas from a roll, at almost any speed, and the M5 will suck the headlights out of the S5. Trust me, the difference is very dramatic.
