not perfect and don't get to do whatever they like. They still have to abide by price budgets, emissions, country specific laws, etc. Not to mention each customer, designer, engineer, etc. has their personal taste and vision so you can't please everyone.
The M guys may build a car that is absolutely superb straight out of the box but given enough $$ and time I'm sure they could've figured out countless alternatives to parts such as Active Sound, single-piston sliding rear calipers, etc.

It seems your original post was the most dramatic and disgruntled.
People are going to tune their cars however they like... get over it and have a nice day.
