I agree that Lamborghini's marketing folks are playing it up somewhat with the whole emotion/feel line. But I completely disagree with your conclusion about the Veyron. Instead, IMHO, they went with the single clutch ISR because of weight and packaging concerns. If you look at the approach they took with the Aventador, it is clear that weight was managed meticulously. They didn't want the penalties of the DCT. Even though they are minor, every little pound adds up.

The only reason why Lamborghini came up with this BS about emotion is because a DSG equipped Aventador would render the Veyron useless, so the "geniuses" at the VAG group had to find a way to slow the Aventador down, in other to not make the Veyron look irrelevant.
The solution: Fit the brand spanking new Lamborghini with the same old dimwitted, jerky "E-gear" transmission and call it a day. Job done! Now it was just up to the marketing department to come up with the most preposterous load of BS about how the E-gear adds "emotion" to the equation.
