"AMEN", I say! Others seeing me post on this topic are familiar with my many tirades. This is a positively fabulous car, but BMW has made a concerted effort to "dumb down" owner access/keep certain aspects of the car secret. Having to "code" the car to show actual tire pressure versus just showing "OK", not showing oil, or many other capacities in the owners manual, and stipulating that service should ONLY be done at the BMW dealer, are just a few of the things that drive me mad. As someone who has built a number of race engines in my day, and who has changed all of my own/my family's oil for 35+ years, I think I can handle access to the info... That said, the demographic of the typical BMW buyer justifies their approach. As evidence, I was at the dealer a month ago, and a guy standing next to me brought his car to the dealer and was willing to wait 30 minutes to have his oil and tires checked... In my world, I pull your "man card" for that s..t.
