I agree on the brakes, however your analogy from track days is completely off. I was there too and the brakes on the m5s were totally worn out. I have never seen that degree of fade and shutter on an 8 lap run with steel brakes.

Maybe on a 30 lap run you might see that, but not on 8 laps. I think they deliberately provided M5s with old brakes to emphasize the benefit of the brand new CCBs.

The CCBs do provide slightly more braking power (not double) and are better on long-runs (30 laps not 8). Most drivers won't materialize the benefit.

However the CCB benefit is more tangible than the CP benefit.
