According to the new "Visit to the M Studio" on M3Post (see: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=841012), the engineers they spoke with confirmed that the new engine would be turbocharged and have six cylinders, though they would not comment on how many turbochargers or whether the engine would be inline or V. As much as I'd love for the next M3/4 to rock a twin-turbo V8, BMW would never cannibalize their upmarket M cars that way. Too bad too, because that's just about the only thing that could make me want to trade my current M3 in for a new one. HUD and a weight reduction are both tempting, but not enough to trade off the glorious S65 for a turbo 6.
