those OE tires are summer and in -5C and below, the rubber compound will become much harder ... like a hockey puck and when the rubber does not flex, it does not grip in snowy & icy condition and that's why you are damned lucky in not getting into any collision and/or accident. If you can afford a $100K car, you can certainly be smart and dish out another $3-4K in a winter set tires & wheels for the sake of safety.
