My first stop after a car purchase is to a reputable auto detailer (my personal preference is one who uses Shine Supply products as their sealer is outstanding), be very blunt with them that you want your car prepped, shined and sealed to protect against car washes and you'll be in great shape - usually holds up for 6-12 months with regular weekly car washes before it needs to go in for a refresh detail.
I own a SG M5 BTW - gets washed weekly by the car wash folks - looks as pristine as the day I bought it but the paint needs the right prep and seal!
