When I first got my car the DCT felt strange but once I got used to how it behaves I feel like it's nearly PERFECT. I love how I can play with the accelerator and paddles to make it nearly drive like a manual or I can just chill and let it take control like a full auto, plus the fact that I can let off the brake at a light (on level ground) is really cool. Nothing like just hovering over the accelerator ready to hit "go" when the light turns green. I've had similar experience as you using the paddles and I appreciate the clear explanation...
