People try to use that as a negative, but I had the S4 as well and my old TTRS was just as great in the AWD department as the S4 which used the trademark "Quattro" system.
that system is being used on Golf R, Seat Leon Cupra SW also.. yes technically its 4 wheel drive.. but unless there are extreme conditions like no traction across different wheel axle on tire each, system acts like FWD.. though its %90 front %10 back wheel after 30-35kmh anyway.. you can search deeper by Haldex AWD system on web..
