I'm a fan of LAKEOM5's approach with the Meguiars. They make two different compounds specifically for aircraft acrylic that work great on the speedo/tach cluster surrounds; use the cleaner first (M17) and then follow with the polish (M10). The USAF uses this stuff on their HUD's and canopies.
Whatever you do, do not overheat the plastic!
