I'm a big fan of aftermarket rims - easiest way to set my car apart in an area where M5s and even lambos are "common".

I'd get the standard 19's and throw snows on them for winter, especially since the potholes are bad in the winter months. Then get aftermarket 20's for the spring and summer. The 20's as an upgrade seem kind of pricey since they're probably going to run like $3k for the option. (edit, was way off on the option price) you could put that $3k into a set of 20s and sell your 19's to someone with regular F10 if you opt not to do a winter setup.

That's my plan as I live on the Hudson right across from NYC and the roads are similarly bad.

I should also say that I don't particularly like the M5 20's - they're too "open" for me. I plan on going with a Mesh one piece concave wheel like the HRE P40-SC
